Tonight's feature was Disney's Dinosaur! It has been years since any of us had seen this movie and to be honest I wasn't sure if I remembered liking it when I last saw it. I have to say that after watching the movie I was so glad that Reece picked it out! What a wonderful story of friendship, helping each other, and sticking together. It was definitely a keeper!
Tonight we were missing Bruce (fishing weekend with the guys -- booo!) and Liam (we temporarily exiled him from movie nights), but we did add Grandma Marlene to the mix (her cell phone was turned on this time - hahaha). We had some Carnotaurus Claws (bugles) for our movie snack, but I forgot to take a picture of them. Oh well!
Our craft for the night was making dinosaur feet out of craft foam. We laughed so hard at our mom's attempt to "freestyle" her dinosaur feet -- after all who needs to measure or needs a pattern for things? Well, apparently she did -- check out the blue feet! It was hilarious -- rumor has it there is a video somewhere hahahaha!
Mom retreated to the bathroom for a while and we were concerned that she didn't take our jokes about her feet too well when all of a sudden my mom's dog, Roxy, came strutting into the dining room sporting some very theme appropriate footwear -- guess we know what mom was doing now!
Here are a few more pictures of our dinosaur feet -- some of them are so blurry. Me thinks it is time to invest in a new camera (woohoo, I mean darn!)
Ashley's Dino Feet
Reece and Chris sporting their dino feet
Group shot of the Dino Feet (l-r: Chris, Ashley, Reece, Jess, Melissa, Dianne). We decided our dino feet needed claws which just makes them that much better! Ryan, Steve, and Marlene were being party poopers and didn't want to join in the dino feet craze. Next time I think they will have a choice!
Our attempt at scary dino faces (notice Sophi poking her head through Chris's legs?)
After the fun of our dino feet crafts we set the table for a super yummy Dinosaur themed supper. We feasted on:
Pteranodon Wings
Velociraptor Bites
Meteor Pieces
Herbivore Delight
Lemur Lemonade
And Iguanodon Nests
We had so much fun with Disney Dinosaur -- so much more fun than any of us expected to have! The highlight of the night was definitely mom's "freestyle" dino feet. I don't think that we have laughed that much as a family in a long time. And that is what these nights are all about -- creating memories and enjoying each other!
Ryan had the pleasure of picking out our next movie which will happen to be at the end of March -- we just couldn't go too long without a Disney Family Fun Night. So, the next movie will be A Bug's Life. Hopefully by the end of March we will be transitioning out of winter and looking forward to spring. Who am I kidding? Like all true Minnesotans I think we all start looking foward to spring after the second snow storm of the season -- so somewhere around October, right??
